Experience Matters: Delivering Success for Renewal by Andersen

Experience matters. As pioneers in design-build delivery, the idea of a more client-centric process has always been embedded in everything we do. We continuously learn as we listen to our clients' needs, always evolving and improving our design-build process and elevating quality and value.

With 600 years of collective Opus experience, our project managers bring breadth and depth of knowledge and expertise across a diverse portfolio of client and project types and team structures. Through these experiences, we've built lasting relationships with our clients.

Our clients have a choice, but over 70% of our projects are with repeat clients.

Renewal by Andersen wanted additional, flexible space for warehousing now with the ability to expand manufacturing lines over time. We provided real estate development, design and construction services with a single point of responsibility.

Here are some key points of success:

  • When Renewal by Andersen decided to purchase the land for the project site and expand their facility, we were uniquely positioned to collaborate with their in-house real estate team to work through the land sale, entitlements and the other pre-construction tasks.

  • The project was constructed adjacent to their existing facility. We prepared a project work plan with carefully crafted disruption management plans for any tasks that would interact with their operations. The plan coordinated construction activities with minimal disruption to their daily activities.

  • We coordinated their parking needs to provide Renewal by Andersen's trucks and trailers access to park in the newly-constructed truck parking lot throughout construction, even during grading and paving operations.

  • Disruption management planning became an even bigger challenge for the nearly three months of construction remaining after the COVID-19 pandemic hit Minnesota. Renewal by Andersen and our team took joint responsibility for contact tracing and coordinating access between the existing facility and the construction site while balancing new safety protocols.

  • With the environment changing so quickly due to the impact of COVID, Renewal by Andersen saw our ability to adapt quickly and coordinate any necessary scope modifications mid-construction. We provided schedule and cost impacts for any requested scope changes in real time to allow them to make informed decisions.

  • Vertical integration and collaboration is a core part of our team. During this project, we were also building a project for Andersen Corporation, Renewal by Andersen's parent company, near Phoenix, Ariz. The architectural and engineering team was consistent between the two projects, and we held bi-weekly project management collaboration meetings to ensure consistency and efficiency and share key info.

We'll work with you to build more than just structures; we'll also build your trust every step of the way.
