Oxbō Wins MSCA STARR Award for Mixed Use

1/11/2018

We're proud to announce that Oxbō, a luxury mixed-use development in Saint Paul, Minn., received the 2017 Minnesota Shopping Center Association's (MSCA) STARR award winner in the mixed-use category. The STARR Awards "recognize excellence in the retail and shopping center industry."

From the project's inception, collaboration with community members and city officials has ensured the development meets the needs of the neighborhood both aesthetically and functionally. The design of the exterior presents a strong balance between the modern architecture of the Xcel Energy Center and the historic feel of the Irvine Park neighborhoods. Enhancing the neighborhood's pedestrian activity and commerce, the building features 11,500 square feet of fully-leased, ground-level retail space.

While the building as a whole contributes to the continued revitalization of the neighborhood, the retail space enhances vibrancy and was leased to New Bohemia Wurst & Bierhaus and Seventh Street Truck Park, a new concept dining facility. Residents of Oxbō's 191 new residential units, and the adjacent neighborhoods, can enjoy convenient access to these retail tenants - just steps from the Xcel Energy Center.

Judging for the mixed-use category focused on how retail made a significant contribution to the overall project, and other factors including how site challenges, governmental issues and integration into the community were handled.

Congrats to everyone who helped make Oxbō happen!
