Marquette University - Zilber Hall

Located at the heart of Marquette University’s campus, on Milwaukee’s busiest thoroughfare, this four-story administration and student services building, which combines numerous offices once scattered across campus, creates a new front door and hub for this urban University.

The building was designed to fit proportionally within the context of Marquette’s Campus with an emphasis on creating a welcoming, pedestrian friendly destination.  The main entrance element is located on axis with the Marquette Hall tower as a gesture of respect, and to bind this new gateway building with the original landmark that remains to this day.

The exterior incorporates a composite brick and precast concrete panels to frame windows, which are designed to maximize the amount of natural light in the interior workspaces.  The Collegiate Gothic campus architecture at Marquette has been artfully woven into the building’s unique design.  The traditional aesthetic includes the latest sustainable features that enhance the energy efficiency of this building which will be LEED Certified.
