Located on the suburban campus of Saint Mary's College, this project expands the housing options for the juniors and seniors of this women's college. The apartment-style buildings provide a viable alternative to multi-family housing off campus.
The three-story building is comprised of a 50/50 mix of two bedroom apartments and four bedroom apartments, plus one advisor single apartment for a total of 73 beds. There are 12 typical apartments per floor.
Common spaces include a mediation room seating 36, student lounges and study rooms on each floor, a laundry facility, and a second floor terrace. Each apartment includes a full kitchen, a living/dining area, individually controlled heating/cooling units, and telephone, data and cable.
The building exterior is designed to complement the historic main campus, utilizing the same color brick and cast stone skin, and borrowing from the architectural vocabulary found throughout the college. The exterior facade is brick masonry with cast stone accents and precast concrete plank flooring. Approximately 75 parking stalls are provided.
Founded in 1844, Saint Mary's College is a Catholic, residential women's college in the liberal arts tradition. Saint Mary's academic program is complemented by a co-exchange program with the University of Notre Dame. |
