As director of safety management, Andy leads the company-wide safety program and establishes a Safety First mindset on all job sites. He continually evaluates and enhances the company-wide safety program and policies. Additionally, he provides safety training and ensures that job site superintendents receive OSHA certified training.
Andy has spent hundreds of hours promoting and leading safety and injury prevention programs for the larger construction industry. In March 2016, he received the Safety Spirit Award from the Minnesota Laborers-Employers Cooperation and Education Trust (LECET). The award recognizes select individuals who have made significant contributions to construction safety in Minnesota.
For over 25 years, Andy has served on the Labor, User, Contractor Committee (LUC), an inter-organization group, where he provides guidance in safety. The LUC develops OSHA training materials and teaches the OSHA Construction 10- and 30-hour classes, Behavior Based Safety Program, Fall Protection Program and the Pro 10 Program.
Andy received Associate of Arts degrees in accounting and safety and health from Anoka Ramsey Community College and Inver Grove Community College, respectively. He is a member of the Minnesota State Building and Construction Trades Council; Labor, User, Contractor Committee; Association of General Contractors of Minnesota; and Minnesota Electrical Association.
