The Opus Group (Opus) is pleased to announce the recent promotion of
Joe Downs to executive vice president and general manager. In this newly created role, Joe will manage the St. Louis, Kansas City and Indianapolis markets, where he will continue to grow the business across multiple sectors including student living, senior living, multifamily, industrial, office and value-add.

Joe has been part of the Opus team for over 17 years, leading highly visible projects, including

District Flats,
Citizen Park,
Bunge Headquarters,
56 Commerce Center,
LabCorp,
Edison District Offices & Food Hall and
Westport Apartments. Additionally, Joe is credited with leading Opus' entry into senior living, having developed Opus' strategic approach and forged key relationships with both operating and capital partners in that sector. And he provides active leadership of multiple community stewardship initiatives, including serving on the board of directors for the Opus Foundation®.

Joe earned a bachelor's of science in civil engineering from Marquette University and continued his education at the University of St. Thomas, where he graduated with a master's in business administration. He is a LEED accredited professional and a member of the St. Louis Chapter of SIOR and the St. Louis University Civil Engineering Advisory Board. Joe is a board member for Cardinal Ritter Senior Services, Clayton Century Foundation and the Opus Foundation.
