The Opus Group (Opus) has promoted Anne Marie Solberg to vice president and general counsel. In her new role, Solberg is responsible for providing legal guidance and advice to all companies and associates within Opus, as well as overseeing the work of outside law firms.
With nearly 30 years of experience in real estate and construction law, Solberg has been an integral member of the Opus legal team since 2013. Previously, as senior associate general counsel, she managed the legal department and provided strategic legal counsel organization-wide, working collaboratively with senior leaders and project leaders on behalf of Opus.
“Anne Marie is an extraordinary asset to our team," said Tim Murnane, president and CEO of Opus. “She brings deep expertise and an innovative approach to strategically addressing complex legal matters. We also value that she leads by example, setting a high standard and inspiring the best in our extended team."
Solberg succeeds Tom Hoben, who recently retired after serving as vice president and general counsel for 13 years at Opus. He joined Opus in February of 2000.
“We are grateful for Tom's keen legal mind and many years of dedicated service," Murnane said. “He is a respected, ethical leader who expertly navigated us through many business evolutions. We wish Tom the best in his retirement as we move confidently into the future with Anne Marie as our trusted counselor."
Prior to joining Opus, Solberg spent several years in private practice at Parsinen Kaplan Rosberg & Gotlieb (now Barnes & Thornburg) where she served Opus as outside counsel. She also was an attorney at Briggs and Morgan (now Taft) and Oppenheimer (now Fox Rothschild).
Solberg holds a law degree from Mitchell Hamline School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota.
