Voting opens today for the first annual Gerry Rauenhorst Building Community Award. Clients, partners and the general public are encouraged to vote and spread the word. Voting will close April 17th at 12 p.m. CDT.
To honor our founder’s legacy of giving, Opus and the Opus Foundation® launched the Building Community Award to provide $62,000 to one nonprofit organization to commemorate our rich history and tradition that began 62 years ago.
Representing each community where we have an office, the following are our finalists:
- La Casa Norte (Chicago),
- Mile High United Way - Bridging the Gap Program (Denver),
- Joppa (Des Moines),
- Outreach, Inc. (Indianapolis),
- Operation Breakthrough (Kansas City),
- Guest House of Milwaukee,
- Urban Boatbuilders (Minneapolis),
- Dress for Success (Phoenix) and
- Youth Learning Center (St. Louis).
Each one of these organizations makes an important difference in our communities through services impacting homelessness, early childhood education, career services and youth development, among others.
Anyone can cast their vote for the nonprofit they think best exemplifies the spirit of the award. The winning nonprofit will be named the Building Community Award winner on April 22nd in conjunction with our fourth annual Founder’s Day kickoff activities. The eight other finalists will receive $1,000 each to acknowledge their important contributions to the community.
Spread the word, support your favorite organization and cast your vote today!
