Annual Opus Cup Raises Additional $19k for Camp Fire Minnesota

6/17/2015

In its 16th year, the Opus Cup, a hockey fundraising game with players from the Minneapolis brokerage community and our own Opus associates, raised more than $19,000 for Camp Fire Minnesota this year, NAIOP Minnesota’s charity partner.

Wearing vintage jerseys, the Minneapolis Millers and the St. Paul Vulcans faced off for a friendly yet competitive game. In a four to three overtime victory, Team Jet, coached by Jim Jetland of Cushman & Wakefield/NorthMarq, took home the trophy, bringing his total wins to ten. Coaching the competing team, Wade Lau, president of Founders Properties has six victories to his name thus far.

The Opus Foundation® awarded a $10,000 grant to Camp Fire Minnesota. Additional funds came from two Chuck-a-Puck competitions and raffle ticket sales. Matt Rauenhorst, vice president for Opus Development Company, L.L.C., presented the final checks to representatives of Camp Fire Minnesota at a recent NAIOP Minnesota event.

Since its inception, the Opus Cup has raised more than $160,000 for local nonprofit organizations.

The Opus Foundation is building community for a better tomorrow by supporting projects and programs that make our communities better places to live, work and raise families through grants to nonprofit organizations in the areas of early childhood education, youth development, workforce development, community revitalization and pressing/emerging needs.
