Building Dedications: Honoring Those Who Helped Make the Project Happen

10/4/2013

With our extensive expertise in the institutional sector, we often find ourselves attending many dedication ceremonies. That rings especially true today as the Luther Aquatic Center and Saint Thomas Academy Student Activities Center are dedicated.

Marking another notch in our long relationship with Decorah, Iowa-based Luther College, the Luther Aquatic Center was completed in June. Today’s dedication ceremonies will feature a special guest: Olympic swimmer Christine Magnuson! Christine, who won silver in the 2008 Olympics, will be on hand during Luther’s homecoming weekend celebrations by speaking to athletic teams, interacting with students and swimming in Luther’s alumni meet on Saturday.

The pool will be dedicated to David E.G. and Patricia Miller, who led the charge in fundraising for this project.

Moving north to Mendota Heights, Minn., the Saint Thomas Academy Student Activities Center will be dedicated in the name of the late Vince Flynn. Flynn, a best-selling author who graduated from the school, was a former trustee of the school who helped lead fundraising efforts.

It was fun to be a part of both project teams, and I wish the students all the best as they use their facilities to learn and grow as students and athletes.
