No Job Too Big: Design-Build Team Scales to Deliver for Clients

9/14/2016

Building on a rich history dating back to 1953, our expert team understands that today’s buildings require custom, efficient and innovative spaces that meet clients’ specific business needs. When ConAgra Foods decided to consolidate multiple Midwest distribution facilities into one massive, centralized location – their largest building ever built – they turned to us – a trusted and long-time partner.

The project began when ConAgra Foods engaged us on a site search for a location that met their needs for size, interstate access, rail service and future expansion – leading to a 300 acre site in Frankfort, Ind. We provided development services to secure the new site, and then led the design and construction of the significant structure. Just 55 weeks after site selection was complete, with a great deal of planning, teamwork and collaboration, ConAgra’s new facility was fully operational -- 6 weeks ahead of schedule and under budget.

When you look at the total value proposition that Opus brings, we believe that the ROI is superior to the alternatives we had. The team at Opus embraced the project like they were building it for themselves. It’s the largest building ConAgra has ever had built, and it was completed on time and under budget using Opus’ design-build approach, which gave us one point of contact and allowed for seamless integration with subcontractors and overall master schedule planning.
