The Opus Group™ Breaks Ground on New Church & Dwight Co., Inc. Corporate Headquarters in New Jersey

10/11/2011
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The Opus Group™ and Church & Dwight Co., Inc., celebrated the ground breaking  on a new 250,000-square-foot corporate headquarter campus in Ewing, N.J. , where Church & Dwight Co., Inc.,  is relocating and consolidating offices. The Opus Group™ will design and build the campus. SunTrust Bank is funding the project and an investment group led by Founders Properties, L.L.C. will own the building under a long-term lease with Church & Dwight Co., Inc.

“We are extremely pleased to be working with Church & Dwight Co., Inc., to design and build its new corporate headquarters,” said Dave Menke, senior vice president and general manager of Opus Development Corporation, at a ceremony held today at the new location in the PrincetonSouth Corporate Center. “Today’s event offered a chance to celebrate what this project means for Church & Dwight as well as acknowledge all of those involved in making this project a success.”

The campus will include two 125,000-square-feet Class A, energy-efficient office buildings that will be designed and constructed with sustainable practices and elements. The buildings will be connected to allow for engagement and interaction. The buildings are expected to be completed by the end of 2012.

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Church & Dwight James R. Craigie said, “The business incentives offered by the State of New Jersey played a significant role in our decision to keep our corporate headquarters in the state and made today’s groundbreaking  possible.  We thank Governor Chris Christie and Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno for their personal interest in our company – and we applaud all their successful efforts in making New Jersey a great place to live and work.”

Church & Dwight Co., Inc., founded in 1846, manufactures and markets a wide range of personal care, household and specialty products, under the ARM & HAMMER brand name and other trademarks.

“Church & Dwight has been an important part of New Jersey’s family of businesses for over three decades. This project directly benefits New Jerseyans by keeping nearly 1,000 jobs here, creating 130 new permanent jobs and hundreds of construction jobs. Across our state, job creators like Church & Dwight are responding to the positive changes we are making to grow our economy, while turning around the negative climate for job creators,” said Governor Christie. “Creating good paying, long-term jobs for New Jerseyans is a top priority of my Administration, which is why we secured $2.35 billion in job creating tax cuts, expanded business incentive programs, refused to raise taxes and removed regulatory barriers to growth in a common sense way.”

Opus Development Corporation is the developer, Opus AE Group, Inc., is responsible for the building design, and Opus Design-Build, L.L.C. will construct the building.
