Opus Design Build, L.L.C. to Construct New Headquarters for Freightquote.com

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - ​Opus Design Build, L.L.C announced today that it has been awarded a contract by Freightquote.com to design and construct the company’s new 200,000-square-foot headquarters.

The nation’s largest online shipping broker, Freightquote, is relocating to Kansas City, Mo. from its current location in Lenexa, Kan. This new office space will be designed to accommodate an expanding workforce as the company looks to grow, creating approximately 700 new positions within the next several years.

Built on a 30 acre site south of St. Joseph Hospital, the new facility will have convenient access to Interstate 435 at State Line Road and Wornall Road. The four-story building will feature architectural precast with glass curtain wall and punched openings and will accommodate parking for 1,500 cars. 

Construction began in August 2012 and is slated for completion in June 2013. 

Opus Design Build, L.L.C. is serving as the design-builder on the project and Opus AE Group, Inc. is the architect and engineer of record while VanTrust Real Estate is providing development services.
