Almost a year after demolition began, and with a pause in construction over the winter, Xcel Energy’s headquarters expansion in downtown Minneapolis has topped out.
Reaching nine stories, this milestone equates to nearly 1,480 tons of steel and 3,520 cubic yards of concrete on the elevated decks and slab on grade.
Maximizing convenience and efficiency for Xcel, this building will connect with their current building across Nicollet Mall via skyway, which is being placed this month. Throughout the rest of this month we’ll also pour the roof slab.
This 222,000-square-foot office development will be completed in August 2016.
