Matt is responsible for the leadership and overall management of the upper Midwest markets, including Chicago, Minneapolis and Des Moines. His primary responsibilities include guiding the operating strategy and growth plans across the geography and the pursuit and execution of real estate development opportunities across these markets.

Matt has 13 years of real estate and development experience across many different product types including office, industrial, multifamily, senior living, retail and institutional. Since joining Opus, Matt has overseen the development of more than 3,000 residential units, 2 million-square-feet of industrial projects and 300,000-square-feet of retail.

Matt holds a Bachelor of Arts in entrepreneurship from the University of St. Thomas and a Master of Business Administration in real estate and urban land economics from the University of Wisconsin. He previously worked with Habitat for Humanity building affordable housing in South Minneapolis. Matt is a member of NAIOP, the commercial real estate development association; University of St. Thomas' Opus College of Business Strategic Board of Advisors; Minneapolis Downtown Council's Board of Directors; and Minnesota Commercial Association of Realtors.

As executive vice president and general manager, Joe oversees all development, design and construction operations in St. Louis, Kansas City and Indianapolis. He has over 17 years of experience in multiple facets of the industry, including civil engineering, design-build project management, investment finance and real estate development. He has led projects across a variety of sectors, including industrial, retail, residential and institutional.

Joe holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Marquette University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas. He is a member of the St. Louis Chapter of SIOR and the St. Louis University Civil Engineering Advisory Board. Joe is a board member for Cardinal Ritter Senior Services, Clayton Century Foundation and the Opus Foundation®.

As senior director of real estate development, Ben provides leadership and expertise and leads Opus’ national student housing platform with a focus on the sourcing and pursuit of new development opportunities, upfront development feasibility studies, financial analysis, due diligence and entitlements while further providing managerial oversight throughout construction and project delivery.
Ben has over a decade of commercial real estate experience, most of which has been spent developing Class A mixed-use, urban infill assets. Prior to joining Opus in 2016, he served as executive vice president of development at Core Spaces, LLC, a national developer and asset manager specializing in private student housing. Ben also worked for notable firms such as McCaffery Interests, Inc. and Jones Lang LaSalle (now JLL).
Ben holds a Masters of Business Administration in real estate finance and investments from the DePaul University and a Bachelor of Science in construction management from Purdue University. He is a member of the DePaul Real Estate Alumni Alliance, Purdue Alumni Association and the National Multifamily Housing Counsel.
