As Director of Real Estate Development, Chris focuses on creating commercial development opportunities. He oversees all aspects of development, including site selection, site acquisition, partnership structuring, due diligence, government approvals, project financing and coordinates the efforts of the construction, design and development teams.
Chris joined Team Opus in 2023 with 24 years of commercial real estate experience at leading commercial real estate organizations such as Principal Real Estate Investors, Hubbell Realty and Heart of America Group. He has worked on industrial, multifamily, retail and office projects across the U.S.
Chris brings unique perspective due to his diverse structural engineering and financial education as well as his experience in project management, asset management, construction lending, special servicing and mortgage underwriting.
He holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Iowa and a Bachelor of Engineering in Structural Engineering from Vanderbilt University. Chris serves as Vice President of Central Iowa Aquatics and member/advisor of the Downtown Development Group for the Des Moines Partnership. He is also a member of the Iowa Commercial Real Estate Association.
