Women’s Advocates wins $64,000 Gerry Rauenhorst Building Community Award

4/20/2017

Women’s Advocates is thrilled to announce that it has won the Gerry Rauenhorst Building Community Award*, which includes a gift of $64,000!  Our organization was nominated for this award along with seven other wonderful nonprofits across the nation working hard to build healthy and safe communities.

After a ten-day voting period and nearly 50,000 votes cast, Women’s Advocates came in first place with the most votes to win this award!  Women’s Advocates would like to extend its sincere appreciation to each and every person who took the time to vote and ask others to vote!  Advocates for women’s safety came out in full force through their votes, and because of this, awareness of domestic violence is reaching people across the country.

This award will support our mission to end domestic violence, and comes at a time when our community needs this support now more than ever. On behalf of survivors of domestic violence in our community, Women’s Advocates would like to thank its staff, volunteers, supporters, friends, friends of friends, and local community partners for making this happen!
