As director of safety management, Josh is responsible for the overall coordination of all safety operations, including the development, implementation and administration of safety programs, practices and procedures. He works closely with safety field leadership, operations leadership, risk management and legal team members to integrate safe work practices through all phases of a project. Josh also oversees Opus' jobsites across the country on a regular basis, where he performs workplace safety audits, develops safety-training programs for supervisory personnel and diligently promotes safety accountability for all associates.
Josh is very active in the safety and loss prevention community, and he serves as a member of the internal Opus management team responsible for establishing and executing best safety practices and quality control on all Opus projects. The efforts of Josh and all members of the Opus team are reflected in our Experience Modification Rating which is currently 0.65.
Josh holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Marquette University. He is a certified Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) and an Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) authorized trainer. Josh is a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers, Associated General Contractors of Greater Milwaukee, Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce, Milwaukee Construction Industry Safety Council and Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce.
