Opus Cup Raises $13K for Camp Fire Minnesota

6/23/2014

Our 2014 Opus Cup was a success! We raised $8,005 and the Opus Foundation® donated another $5000 to support Camp Fire Minnesota’s many wonderful programs.

On May 1st, local Twin Cities’ brokers and Opus associates sporting 2014 Olympic Team USA and Team Canada inspired jerseys laced up their skates and took to the ice for the 15th annual Opus Cup. Jim Jetland of Cushman &Wakefield/NorthMarq and Wade Lau of Founders Properties coached the teams again this year with Team Jet coming out ahead and returning home with the trophy.

This annual game brings colleagues from across Minneapolis’ commercial real estate community together for a fun game of hockey that raises money for charity. Since its inception, the Opus Cup has raised appromiately $150,000 for local nonprofit organizations.

For those keeping tally, Team Lau has a total of six wins and Team Jet is now up to nine.

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported this great event! We’d also like to thank our corporate sponsors Cushman & Wakefield/NorthMarq, Welsh Companies and First American Title Company. Additional thanks go to BDH & Young for sponsoring the first chuck-a-puck intermission and Pinstripes for donating a kid’s party package.

For over 100 years Camp Fire Minnesota has worked to provide quality programming to young people through their clubs and camps. No matter who they are, Camp Fire meets kids where they are and takes them where they want to go. In Minnesota, they do this through outdoor and community programs.
