Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, integration, and optimization of marketing technology platforms and data systems, managing processes for capturing, warehousing, and extracting data while ensuring quality and actionable insights
  • Oversee the Opus website user experience, digital marketing analytics, and collaborate with IT on SEO, SEM, and new technology initiatives while directing cross-functional teams and external vendors for implementation
  • Provide creative and technical support for business development, including visualization, graphics, and marketing collateral to support business and brand strategies

Experience

Joel began his career in the architecture industry when he joined us in 1998. With a strong foundation as the former Director of Visualization & Technology, Joel guided the evolution of Opus’ marketing platforms, data systems and integrated visualization tools to support business growth and brand strategy. His experience includes optimizing the Opus Project Library, development of interactive presentation tools, leading graphic design efforts, architecture and design technology management, as well as developing processes for capturing and utilizing project data to drive marketing collateral.

Joel’s background in visualization and technology enables him to leverage deep expertise in digital innovation, data management and creative technology, bridging the gap between creative storytelling and technical execution. He provides creative support for proposals, presentations and brand initiatives, ensuring that Opus marketing collateral is both visually compelling and fact based. Joel’s collaborative approach and commitment to innovation makes him a trusted leader in advancing the firm’s digital capabilities and delivering high-quality, consistent results across all marketing channels.

Outside of work, Joel enjoys a variety of activities, such as camping, hiking and exploring the countryside on his motorcycle. He enjoys hands-on projects, whether it’s tackling home improvements or rebuilding a car or a computer. Additionally, Joel likes to create furniture and sculptures, drawing inspiration from materials he has available or can repurpose in creative ways.
