Responsibilities
- Provides legal counsel and strategic guidance throughout all stages of the real estate development, construction, financing and disposition processes
- Oversees the work of outside law firms with respect to matters dealing with real estate development, construction, architecture, finance, property management, general corporate matters and litigation
- Leads legal strategy for financing, asset transactions and property matters
Experience
Lara began her legal career in 2009 and joined us in 2025. In her role, she serves as a strategic advisor and trusted partner to senior leadership and business units, providing legal oversight across six major markets. Prior to joining Opus, Lara served as General Counsel for a large multifamily development and construction firm and was previously a partner in the Tax Credit & Incentive Finance group of Stinson LLP.
Drawing on her experience in real estate development, construction and financing transactions, Lara applies practical, solution-oriented judgment to advance complex projects efficiently and align legal strategy with project and business objectives. Lara believes that driving collaboration and cooperation among internal and external teams is key to delivering timely projects and adeptly managing risk.
