Opus to Deliver Mission Critical Value Add for LapCorp in Overland Park

Amidst a strong Kansas City real estate market, Opus is performing a value add building renovation in Overland Park, Kansas.

Opus purchased a 38,183-square-foot building from Laboratory Corporation of America Holdings (LabCorp), who has owned and occupied the building since 2015. LabCorp, a leading healthcare diagnostics company, will move back into the building when renovations are complete in early 2019. LapCorp operations in the facility will include medical laboratory testing and services in association with a regional network of primary clinical laboratories and specialty testing laboratories.

The two-story building, originally built in the 1970s, will undergo a significant renovation. Opus will be performing a building modernization to renovate and improve the interior and exterior tenant space over a six month period that will meet mission critical lab needs. Improvements will include:

  • a new roof
  • upgraded elevators
  • new HVAC equipment
  • interior and exterior wall repairs
  • interior finishing upgrades.
The renovations will modernize the facility both operationally and aesthetically, improving the overall space for LabCorp's employees and their ability to provide clients with exceptional service.
