Expanding Spectro Alloys’ recycling capacity within a compressed timeline.

When Spectro Alloys set out to expand its operations at their Rosemont, MN, campus the company had a clear goal: meet growing demand for recycled aluminum products while increasing Minnesota’s recycling rates. Using our integrated design-build project delivery model, we helped deliver on their goal with a new, highly technical recycling facility completed ahead of schedule.

The facility includes industry-leading automation and state-of-the-art equipment for sorting, melting, casting and homogenizing aluminum scrap and the best available pollution control technology. The plant reduces energy use and carbon emissions by 95% compared to the production of new aluminum and increases the company's recycling capacity by 120 million pounds per year.

For Spectro, the project represents not only a major business expansion but also a significant step forward in sustainability and Minnesota’s circular economy.
