Expanding Spectro Alloys’ Recycling Capacity with Build-to-Suit Facility in Rosemount, Minnesota

To improve recycling rates and meet the growing demand for recycled aluminum, our Client Direct Services group designed and constructed a 90,000-square-foot, build-to-suit recycling facility for Spectro Alloys in Rosemount, MN. The facility enables the Midwest's leading aluminum recycler to increase its production of recycled billet and sheet ingot from post-consumer scrap aluminum, including aluminum cans.

Spectro Alloys chose us for our industrial building expertise, ability to respond to project complexities, integrated design-build approach and ability to compress schedules for earlier delivery.

The facility includes industry-leading automation and state-of-the-art equipment for sorting, melting, casting and homogenizing aluminum scrap and the best available pollution control technology. The plant reduces energy use and carbon emissions 95% compared to the production of new aluminum. It increases the company's recycling capacity by 120 million pounds per year and creates up to 50 new full-time jobs.
