For Eric Chamberlin, no two days in this industry ever look the same – and that’s exactly what he loves about it. After starting his career in real estate private equity, Eric moved into development to get closer to the work, the people and the communities he serves.

“I really enjoy taking a project through the full life cycle,” he said. “There’s something gratifying about being part of every step and seeing how the pieces come together.”

With a background that spans economics, law and real estate private equity, Eric brings a multidimensional outlook to his projects that blends strategy, teamwork and an enthusiasm for creating spaces that truly serve their markets and communities.

Lessons from the Mountains & the Coast

Eric grew up in Phoenix and later studied economics at the University of Colorado before earning his law degree from the University of Denver. His early career took him to San Francisco, where he worked at Shorenstein and Partners Group, gaining wide-ranging exposure to industrial, office and multifamily acquisitions and asset management.

The pace and complexity of a major coastal market sharpened Eric’s analytical skills and taught him how to navigate intricate transactions. When he joined our Denver team in 2020, he was eager to bring that perspective to a more integrated environment where he could be a local resource and guide projects from concept to completion.

“Each project is unique and a true team effort,” Eric said. “The people here, the culture and the variety of work make every day enjoyable.”

Promoted to Senior Director in 2025, Eric now oversees efforts across multiple product types, leading everything from site selection and entitlement to design, budgeting, leasing and community engagement. His broad background helps him connect insights across disciplines and approach decisions with clarity and balance.

A Leader When Times Are Tough

If there’s a theme in Eric’s approach, it’s that he doesn’t shy away from challenges. That mindset proved invaluable on Kalaco, a multifamily development in Denver that hit a major snag when severe rain created a large-scale mold remediation issue mid-construction. The situation required coordination with the JV partner, insurance consultants, engineers and our Design Build Team. Eric’s composed leadership kept the team moving forward.

“It wasn’t easy, but we learned a lot,” Eric said. “And the final product is something the team is really proud of.”

Forge at Peak Innovation Park in Colorado Springs, CO, a two-building speculative industrial development, offered the challenge of entering an unfamiliar market. Eric’s calm, relationship-focused approach helped build trust with city leaders and key stakeholders.

“There’s always risk when entering a new market,” said Eric. “You need the right partners and team to bring a vision to life. With thorough review of the market and economy, we saw opportunity in this submarket where others only saw risk.”

Where Work and Home Converge

Across industrial and multifamily work alike, Eric excels at bringing people together and keeping projects moving in the right direction. And shaping projects in Colorado carries special meaning for him. After spending years in Denver and Boulder – and with family roots in Steamboat Springs – the state has always felt like home.

That connection extends well beyond the office. Recently married, Eric and his wife spend much of their free time enjoying Colorado’s outdoors backpacking, skiing, biking, camping and exploring their shared interest in art.

Whether he’s guiding a project team or exploring the mountains he loves, Eric carries the same sense of purpose and calm everywhere he goes.
