
Responsibilities
- Matt is President of Opus and in partnership with Opus’ Chief Executive Officer, Tim Murnane, leads the organization and operating subsidiaries
- Provides overall leadership and guidance for the company
- Oversees the business partner services functions within Opus Holding, which include accounting, finance, human resources, IT, legal, and marketing & brand, as well as shared responsibility for the capital markets group
- Beginning January 1, 2027, Matt will assume the CEO role from Tim Murnane upon his retirement
Experience
Matt started his career in commercial real estate in 2004 and joined our team in 2008 as Senior Director of Development and earned several promotions of increasing responsibility in the years to follow. As a lead developer, Matt has overseen the development of many projects and product types, including office, institutional, over 2,000,000 SF of industrial, 3,000 residential units, and 300,000 SF of retail. Additionally, over the last decade, he’s cultivated and curated relationships with numerous Fortune 500 companies and institutional investors and has worked to deliver key projects with several clients, including Target, Andersen Windows, Xcel Energy, Cargill, BAE, Amazon, Walgreens, CBRE and Principal Financial. And more recently, in his prior role of President & Chief Executive Officer of Opus Development Company, he was responsible for all development efforts across the company, and in 2024 he led the creation of a five-year strategic plan for the entire organization.
