Rich Kauffman

Known for his calm demeanor and strategic approach, Rich is an accomplished construction executive with an impressive track record of completed commercial real estate projects.

Oversees project design and construction activities from conception to activation
Proactively identifies and mitigates potential risks to maximize project success

Experience

Rich began his construction career in 1994 when he first joined Opus. After spending 14 years here, he left Opus for a brief period when he served in senior construction management roles at DLC Residential and Gatlin Development. In 2016, he returned to Team Opus as Regional Vice President of Construction.

Rich has managed more than 11 million square feet of construction projects across multiple sectors, including office, industrial, institutional, retail and residential. He has a reputation as a master problem solver who instinctively thinks outside the box to arrive at creative solutions. Rich loves a challenge and performs his best when under pressure – characteristics that align well with managing complex construction projects on tight deadlines. His vast experience and deep knowledge, combined with his respect for others and collaborative nature, have contributed greatly to his successful career.

Rich’s discerning mark can be found on many buildings, including industrial projects such as Simply Good Foods in Mt. Comfort, IN; Point 70 Logistics Park A and B in Greenfield, IN; and Winchester Logistics Park in Canal Winchester, OH. Point 70 and Winchester Logistics are two-building developments with public infrastructure components.

When he’s not working, Rich likes to travel and experience other cultures and cuisine with his family. Artistic by nature, Rich has several creative outlets – he enjoys photography and has played the piano since he was a youngster.
