Opus Completes Renovation of Entry & Science Wing for Twin Cities High School

With a goal of improving student learning spaces to reinforce unique academic programs and support the need for flexible space, Benilde-St. Margaret's, a private high school in the Minneapolis suburb of St. Louis Park, Minn., enlisted Opus' Client Direct Services to complete a renovation of their building to create flexible educational space.

The renovation created room for students and faculty to imagine, innovate and inspire and included:

  • excavation of an existing courtyard to create a two-level, terraced atrium that serves as a large gathering space for learning and student, parent or faculty presentations
  • a storage space uncovered during excavation was turned into three high-tech, flexible STEM rooms that open onto the atrium and increase natural light
Benilde-St. Margaret's selected Opus because they saw the benefits and value of the integrated design-build team and the successful completion of other recent institutional projects. This project continues Opus' strong legacy of providing state-of-the-art institutional projects for clients.

Completed in January 2019, the school was able to remain operational during the multi-phase construction due to careful consideration of safety and other construction impacts.
