Opus Designing & Constructing New Headquarters & Customer Service Facility for WorldWide Logistics near Des Moines

With e-commerce-driven growth and a desire to create an appealing workplace to attract and retain a talented workforce, WorldWide Logistics enlisted Opus' Client Direct Services group to design and construction a new headquarters and customer service facility in Urbandale, Iowa, just 11 miles west of Des Moines.

WorldWide Logistics is a growing third-party logistics broker providing truckload, less-than-truckload and transportation management services nationwide. This 76,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art building is rich in employee amenities. Employees have access to a café, a coffee shop, markets, an outdoor recreation area, an outdoor grilling and seating area and a quarter-mile lit walking path around a pond. The 22.25-acre site is located near Interstate 80/35 and is near many commercial establishments, including retail, restaurants and gas stations.

WorldWide Logistics is one of the country's largest privately held logistics companies based on current employee count and revenue – and they have experienced significant growth due to e-commerce demands. The new building provides office space beyond what is required for the company's 600 corporate and customer service center employees, currently located in three separate buildings in Urbandale.

Opus' track record in the Des Moines market, deep experience designing and constructing build-to-suit corporate facilities and fully integrated design-build approach expedited a timely and efficient delivery of the building for WorldWide Logistics.

The project was completed in March 2023.
