The Opus Group announced today the start of construction on an industrial build-to-suit project in Owatonna, located an hour south of the Twin Cities. Bosch Automotive Service Solutions, a business sector of Bosch, one of the world's largest suppliers of automotive components, will lease and occupy the 265,630-square-foot warehouse and distribution facility.
“We're grateful for the opportunity to work with Bosch Automotive Service Solutions to help them consolidate their facilities, grow and further establish their presence in the city Owatonna," said Jason Conway, director of real estate development at Opus. “With this new facility, Bosch will streamline their distribution processes and enable growth of their business."
The development allows for convenient access to Interstate 35 and will have 30-foot clear height, 90 parking stalls, 26 dock doors, one drive-in door, 12 semi-trailer parking stalls and an ESFR fire protection system. Additionally, there will be 7,600 square feet of office space that includes a breakroom, driver lounge, conference room and wellness room. Bosch will utilize the new facility as a distribution hub for its automotive repair and maintenance equipment to serve domestic and international needs.
“The City of Owatonna is excited to be able to partner with Bosch and Opus to expand the Bosch footprint in Owatonna. We are thrilled to be able to grow our industrial base in Owatonna and look forward to continuing to work with Bosch and Opus on future endeavors, said Mayor Tom Kuntz. “This is the newest project of many that continues to keep Owatonna a fantastic place for businesses to grow."
