St. John the Baptist Church & School Renovation

In just five months, the team met all of the parish’s goals, completing the work under budget and ahead of schedule. In addition, all work on the school was completed as a “Summer Slam” when students were on break and, therefore, not impacted or disrupted. The renovations included:

• adding brick detailing and reredos artwork on the wall behind the altar to add architectural interest, directing focus to the altar
• installing a ramp at the rear of the altar to improve accessibility
• building a secure exterior entrance to the adoration chapel to provide secure access outside of church hours
• reconfiguring what was a one-room confessional into two separate rooms to provide greater privacy and a better experience for parishioners
• transforming a classroom on the school’s south exterior wall into a new 1,064-square-foot administrative space with two offices, a restroom and a new secure school entrance for visitors and students arriving late
• renovating the former administrative office into a 310-square-foot conference room
• re-locating teacher parking, removing a retaining wall and re-grading the south parking lot to provide direct access to the new south school entrance
