Two Projects Named 2019 Top Projects by Finance & Commerce

5/22/2020

Minnesota newspaper Finance & Commerce has named two of our projects to their 2019 top projects list.

According to Finance & Commerce, “A panel of judges looked at the degree of difficulty, creativity in design, innovative construction techniques, cooperation among contractors and management, and sustainability efforts." They selected 49 projects, including 3701 Wayzata Boulevard Multi-Tenant Repositioned Office and Orchards of Minnetonka Senior Living.

Leading with Our First Senior Living Facility

Orchards of Minnetonka is a four-story, 147-unit senior living development in Minnetonka, Minn. And is significant as our first ground-up senior living offering. It includes high-quality services and housing along the continuum of care – independent living, assisted living, memory care and short-term stays.

Orchards of Minnetonka includes a salon, multi-purpose chapel space, club room, billiards, community room and two dining areas to serve residents and their needs. Residents will enjoy the outdoors with a walking path, putting green, gardening beds and a small orchard. Memory care residents will have a dedicated garden and unique activity nooks to suit the needs of their care.

With an ideal location just minutes from Ridgedale Library, premiere shopping at Ridgedale Mall, grocery stores and a variety of restaurants, residents will have access to the development's private bus for transportation.

Transforming Single Tenant to Purposeful Multi-Tenant Office

3701 Wayzata Blvd. was formerly a single-tenant building built in the 1950s for Prudential. We transformed it into a multitenant office building that experienced tremendous leasing activity.

The 307,000-square-foot building provides flexibility for tenant space requirements while offering 1,200 on-site parking stalls in a manicured park-like environment. Situated on Brownie Lake, tenants can enjoy the benefits of being immersed in nature, while also having convenient access to major business hubs, the Minneapolis Chain of Lakes and surrounding biking and walking trails.

The building offers a great amenity package, including

  • a café with indoor and outdoor seating
  • a fire pit, bocce ball court and a half-basketball court
  • a fitness center with locker rooms
  • an indoor bike lounge
  • eighth floor club room with rooftop patio and a conference room

On floors three through seven, we created glass cantilever boxes on the northeast corner with unencumbered views of the Minneapolis skyline, symbolizing a new chapter for the iconic building.
