Thought Leadership: Nick Murnane on a More Measured Approach to Industrial Development
In an interview with Heartland Real Estate Business, Nick shares why thoughtful phasing, strong locations and the right product are increasingly important to successful industrial development.
Industrial development across the Midwest is showing signs of renewed momentum, but rather than simply adding speculative space as demand returns, developers are paying closer attention to what they build, where they build it and when they bring it to market.
Nick Murnane, Vice President and General Manager of Real Estate Development, recently spoke with Heartland Real Estate Business for their article, “Industrial Developers Opt to Build in Phases.” He discussed how a more measured approach to development can help align new supply with market demand, particularly as tenants remain active but increasingly deliberate in their real estate decisions. Nick referenced our Canal Crossing Commerce Center development in Columbus, OH, where we recently broke ground on the first phase of a three-building industrial development, as an example of this approach.
