MINNEAPOLIS – The Opus Group (Opus) announced today the completion of Xcel Energy’s new 222,000-square-foot office building in downtown Minneapolis. Located on the north end of Nicollet Mall, a twelve-block shopping, dining and commercial district, 401 Nicollet creates a two-building campus for Xcel Energy and consolidates operations and employees that were previously spread throughout the city.

The modern nine-story building was designed and developed to reflect the architecture in the surrounding area and to enhance the vitality of downtown Minneapolis. It features collaborative work spaces with flexible furniture, technology and conference areas, as well as a skyway connecting the office tower to the main headquarters. This campus design increases operating efficiency for the approximately 750 Xcel Energy employees that work onsite, providing quick access to colleagues and resources. Confirming Xcel Energy’s commitment to energy efficiency, the building will be LEED Silver certified.
