The Opus Group® Announces Completion of Two New Industrial Warehouse and Office Facilities in Oakview Corporate Park


​The Opus Group (Opus) announced today the completion of projects for Renishaw Incorporated and oelheld U.S. Inc., located in the Oakview Corporate Park in West Dundee, Illinois. Both buildings include office space that will serve as company headquarters as well as custom designed industrial warehouse space to meet the distinct needs of each company.

Renishaw North American Headquarters

As the North American headquarters for Renishaw Incorporated, the new 134,000-square-foot warehouse and office facility incorporates various multifunction purposes, including training and demonstration spaces, an exhibit hall, business use and IT infrastructure for the America’s, and storage and distribution for the company’s high-precision instrumentation. With evolving needs over the course of construction due to the nature of the science and technology industry, Opus offered a flexible design process for Renishaw, culminating in a two-story customized building allowing the company to consolidate and house all of its divisions in one location. The facility consists of approximately 69,000 square feet of office space, 38,000 square feet of warehouse space and 27,000 square feet of space designed for fabrication, demonstrations and trainings.

The building also features custom areas for the company’s 3D metal printing with advanced safeguards to house the materials as well as thoughtful infrastructure for the ability to incorporate future generations of technology and company expansions. Construction on this project began in September 2015 and was completed December 2016.

oelheld U.S. Headquarters

The new U.S. headquarters for oelheld U.S. Inc. was designed with safety and environmental protection in mind for the machine-based lubricants and packaged oil products producer. The 23,400-square-foot headquarters building includes 7,600 square feet of office space and 15,800 square feet of warehouse space, which meets the business’ current needs, while also allowing for future expansion of up to 16,000 square feet.

“The professional design team at Opus quickly realized our new dream facility on paper. With a few design tricks they created a stunning architectural statement, addressing all of our needs and putting a wide grin on everybody’s face here at oelheld,” said Stephan Hecht, general manager, oelheld U.S. “Best of all Opus completed the project on time and within budget. They created a building worthy of their name - as one knows ‘Opus’ also means ‘Work of Art.’”

Unique features of the building include a recessed warehouse floor and drainage barriers designed to contain spilled lubricants during the loading and unloading process in the warehouse. The facility also includes an exterior truck loading area that can contain and capture spills from tankers of up to 6,000 gallons with added safeguards to ensure spilled liquids are not able to enter the storm water retention systems or nearby pond. Construction on this project began in June 2016 and was completed January 2016.

The two buildings are the latest in Opus’ work in the Oakview Corporate Park, preceded by a speculative industrial warehouse, Leafs Ice Centre, a warehouse facility for Maxzone Vehicle Lighting Corporation and two warehouse and office facilities for King Shan. Oakview Corporate Park has just two sites remaining totaling 26.2 acres and can accommodate buildings from 30,000 square feet up to 200,000 square feet.
