The Opus Group® Announces Start of Construction on Corporate Headquarters and Industrial Machinery Showroom for MC Machinery Systems, Inc.

CHICAGO – The Opus Group (Opus) announced today the start of construction on a 175,000-square-foot corporate headquarters for MC Machinery Systems, Inc. (MC Machinery Systems) in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. Currently operating in nearby Wood Dale, Illinois, MC Machinery Systems has an expanding workforce and a need for more space. The new facility will fulfill that need and enable the company to grow well into the future.

A subsidiary of the global Mitsubishi Corporation, MC Machinery Systems develops, sells and supports seven different types of high-tech manufacturing equipment used primarily for metalworking and metal fabrication. The larger space and customized design of the new facility will allow the company to further expand its capabilities and service a diverse range of industries including automotive, aerospace, energy, medical, military/defense, agriculture and more.

“This project offers a great opportunity to collaborate with MC Machinery Systems and provide them a fully customized space to accommodate their growing needs,” said Craig Kenmotsu, senior project manager, Opus Design Build, L.L.C. “Our skillsets across multiple sectors along with our design-build approach create efficiencies that allow us to meet their aggressive timeline and budget.”

The new facility will include a variety of spaces specifically tailored to accommodate customer product demonstrations, research and development, machine refurbishment and a call center for customer support. In total, the building will feature 50,000 square feet of office space spread across two stories, 75,000 square feet of ancillary office and storage areas and a 50,000-square-foot showroom to showcase MC Machinery Systems’ equipment and enable the company to effectively host walkthroughs for its multinational customer base.

“We are so excited for the process of seeing our plans turn into reality for our new corporate headquarters in Elk Grove Village,” said Lou Clifford, senior vice president, MC Machinery Systems, Inc. “Our 175,000-square-foot facility will be the Interstate 90 gateway to so many industrial machine tool suppliers, and we are excited that Mitsubishi/MC Machinery Systems, Inc. will be the first name everyone will see. This location allows us to keep our employee talent pool intact while expanding our facility to better serve our customers for years to come. The building will be a great addition to Northwest Point Business Park.”

Construction on this project began April 2016 and completion is slated for December 2016.
