CHICAGO – The Opus Group (Opus) announced today the start of construction on a two-story, 133,000-square-foot office and warehouse facility for Renishaw Incorporated at Oakview Business Park in West Dundee, Illinois.
“Our unique approach to the design-build delivery process has allowed us to seamlessly execute this very technical project for Renishaw,” said Matt Bratzke, director, Opus Design Build, L.L.C. “Working closely with the Renishaw team, we remained flexible during the design process to evolve the design in a way that met the unique requirements of each space within the building while maintaining the client’s budgetary goals.”
A consolidation of Renishaw’s two existing sites, the approximately 47,000-square-foot warehouse space and 86,000-square-foot office portion will strengthen Renishaw’s product development and testing capabilities and provide expanded storage and distribution space for its high-precision instrumentation. Additionally, the new building will house a central IT hub for all of its North American operations and provide flexible training and demonstration space for their customers. An open, two-story windowed exhibit hall will provide Renishaw’s clients the opportunity to attend tours, see products and equipment up close and view directly into their laboratories.
Employees will have convenient access to a nature preserve on the site and golf course views, and the facility will also be able to accommodate future expansion, serving the needs of a growing company.
Construction for Renishaw began this month with completion slated for June 2016. Opus Design Build, L.L.C. will be the design-builder and Opus AE Group, L.L.C. will be the architect and engineer of record.
