The Opus Group® (Opus) has named Derek Flottum vice president, real estate development for Opus Development Company, L.L.C. Flottum will be helping advance Opus' Phoenix-area industrial and multifamily pursuits – from new site identification, financial structuring, construction and ultimately, to project completion.

Flottum brings more than 20 years experience in real estate development and banking to his new position with Opus. He was most recently vice president of development and Arizona market manager for Irgens, where he oversaw notable Arizona projects such as 999 Playa in Tempe and 17300 Perimeter in Scottsdale. Previously, he was acquisitions manager for Crown Development, president of Enterprise Bank & Trust and vice president of capital markets for M&I Marshall & Ilsley Bank.

An active member of the Arizona NAIOP Chapter, Flottum was elected to the board of directors in 2019 and selected for the chapter's executive committee in 2021. Flottum has a master's degree in business administration from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University and a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
